UpWard Basketball and Cheerleading

First Methodist Azle partners with Upward Sports to offer children the opportunity to learn basketball and cheerleading skills in a Christian environment. Children practice with a Christian coach once a week. At practice they not only learn sporting skills, but they also participate in devotionals and prayer. The games are held once a week in the church gyms and are an encouraging and affirming environment for children to put their new-found skills into practice. Registration typically begins in November with games taking place in January and February. More information about Upward Sports is available on their website.
