Our purpose as the First United Methodist Church of Azle is to know Jesus, to grow in His love, to serve one another, and to share the gospel.

from Senior Pastor, Dr. Richard Reed

With the restrictions on gatherings we have been making adjustments to our ministry and mission schedules.  We are concerned about maintaining the safety and health of all members while continuing to be the church in the best possible ways.  Since we cannot gather in-person, along with our Facebook page options for worship, we have added a YouTube channel.  You can always watch a live stream of our services on Facebook (links below) and we have now added a YouTube channel which provides a recording of our services (link below).  Since the YouTube is currently recorded services, they will be posted online no later than the Monday evening following worship.  We also made some other changes to adapt to the current needs:

  • The church office is still open but the hours and staffing has been reduced.  If you need to come by the office, please call ahead of time to make sure someone will meet you.
  • There are no activities or persons permitted in the building during week.
  • All church and community group meetings have been suspended until further notice.
  • We are sharing regular updates through REALM and Facebook.
  • Necessary meetings are being held via conference call or ZOOM.
  • We are working to keep in contact with everyone who has a “stay-at-home” order.
  • We are evaluating the situation regularly and will make any necessary changes each week until the health crisis is resolved.

Please contact Rev. Tim Thomas if you have a pastoral need or emergency.  Having all needs directed to Rev. Thomas allows us to better respond as a church family.  You can contact Rev. Thomas by clicking on ABOUT US at the top page and selecting STAFF.  Click on “email Timothy Thomas” and complete the contact.

Financial gifts during this time can be made here on the website by clicking GIVING, through the mail, or by contacting Pat Noe.  If you need to bring a gift by the church office, please call ahead of time to make arrangements.

We will continue to evaluate this crisis and make decisions as more information becomes available.  I want to remind you that we are a people of faith who trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for ALL things.  Be prudent, be careful, do what is reasonable, and remember we will not live by fear.  This is a serious situation but not one that should make us question our faith in Christ.  Jesus is the Lord of all time and he is Lord of this moment.  Pray for one another, our healthcare workers and First Responders, our nation, and our world, and let us continue to serve the Lord in all we do.

Grace and Peace,
Dr. Richard Reed
